The annual Christmas carol sing-a-long in High Town, Hereford took place last Wednesday evening.  The celebration this year included a group of Keralan Christians who have moved to the city and shared traditional Malayalam songs.

A newly-formed children's choir at St Thomas Cantilupe Church of England School in Hereford has enjoyed another milestone celebration this Christmas with Choir Church. They were supported by the ministry team at West Hereford and have spent the past term exploring themes of light and dark as well as learning traditional choral music.

A new food bank opened earlier this month run by a group of churches working together in Pontesbury as demand for help continues to rise. The UK’s food poverty rate is already among the highest in Europe. Despite being the sixth richest country in the world, millions are struggling to access the food they need.

Emily Hill takes to the stand to make her Maiden Speech at General Synod

Emily Hill took to the stand at General Synod last weekend to give her maiden speech. Emily who is 21 years old and a trainee nurse, is one of the lay representatives for Hereford Diocese and the youngest ever member to be elected to the General Synod. She spoke passionately during the assisted dying debate before a packed house of representatives.


Hereford Diocese learns of the death of Mr Stephen Borthwick, Chair of Diocesan Board of Education

It is with deep sadness that the Diocesan Board of Education shares the news that our Chair, Mr Stephen Borthwick Bsc FRSA, passed away suddenly on 16 December 2020. The Rt Revd Richard Jackson, Bishop of Hereford said: "We are deeply shocked and saddened to hear news about Stephen. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family and friends, and we extend our deepest sympathies to them.
