PCC Secretary

It is the duty of the Parochial Church Council (PCC) to consult on matters of general concern and importance in the parish. An integral position within the Council is that of PCC Secretary, elected by parish members at the Annual Meeting.

Duties of the PCC Secretary include sending out notices of meetings in good time, preparing reports for meetings and keeping the minutes. They are also expected to deal with correspondence, keep a check on the parish diary, remain up-to-date with what is going on in the parish, and be able to brief the Chair of the PCC.

It is an important role that ensures the smooth running of the PCC and demands good organisational skills and efficient nature.

2022 Statistics for Mission

Following the COVID-19 pandemic, many activities have returned to "normal", but we know that this is not the case everywhere.  The Research & Statistics Team have done their best to adjust the form accordingly, whilst maintaining continuity where appropriate. We hope that most questions will be simple to answer, but we recognise that others might be difficult to answer in your context.  We are keen to find out anything you can tell us, and your best approximation is fine if you do not have precise numbers.  This form is not meant to be a burden to already stretched churches, and again this year we would like to help with the completion of the forms as much as we can.  Please, if you feel you are unable to enter the information online yourself, send the figures across to Sarah Bassett, email Sarah Bassett to be entered online on your behalf.

The Research & Statistics Team have produced the Parish Dashboards this year, with figures from 2020 and 2021, so that the Team can see to what extent things have returned to "normal".  Your Parish Dashboard can be viewed on the Online Parish Returns System.

The online system is now open and can be found at the Parish Returns website. If you already have a username and password, this can be used again, but should you require a reminder of your details or would like a new username and password, then please email Sarah Bassett.

You can download a paper version of the form here: Click for PDF or Click for Word version.

The deadline for the 2022 Statistics return is 31st January 2023.  If you have any queries or need further help please do not hesitate to contact Sarah Bassett on 01432 373300, or by email.

Thank you for taking the time to help us understand the National picture of the Church.
