Education Training and Events Schedule 2023-2024

Year 6 Leavers Celebration - Thursday 20th June 2024 at Hereford Cathedral - registration now open.

Training Programme

The Education Team provides a comprehensive training programme for governors, headteachers and school leaders, clerks, teaching staff and clergy. The team also offers regular briefings for Headteachers and Chairs of Governors to update them on current education issues and provide support.

Most of these courses include unlimited places to schools with a 2023-24 Partnership Agreement. Briefings are free to all diocesan schools for both Headteachers and Chairs. Course fees for non-partnership schools and courses not included in the partnership are indicated on the booking forms.

Our training and briefing meetings are held online via Zoom unless indicated.

SIAMS 2023 Training & Support

Our new SIAMS Framework 23 courses are designed to enable schools to select the areas where they require further training. There is no need to complete them all. However, the school must attend the Introduction to SIAMS 2023 course (either this year or previously) before attending any further SIAMS 23 courses. We recommend that your colleagues book the courses relevant to their leadership areas. Each course is linked to a SIAMS 2023 Inspection Question.

Courageous Advocacy Network

New for this year, this network will support and challenge your school to develop pupils to be courageous advocates—pupils who live compassionately by challenging injustice in appropriate ways. The diocesan Education Team are partnering with the Church of England Foundation for Education Leadership (CEFEL) to provide this network.  The programme consists of six nationally led webinars, each followed by our diocesan-facilitated network sessions to explore its impact within our school contexts. There will be opportunities to learn from good practice and to share ideas and resources to grow as schools that bring transformation.  You can find out more about the national webinars here: Courageous Advocacy Network; the dates for these sessions and the local network sessions are on the booking forms with further information.  There is a fee for the Courageous Advocacy Network of £125 per school for the entire programme. To maximise the impact of this network, we encourage you to involve other team members as participants in the sessions.
