Today saw another annual service tradition return. Following a two-year break due to covid, the Y6 leavers assembly took place at Hereford Cathedral. This special occasion is a highlight of the academic calendar for members of our Education team.
All Primary schools in our diocese, with children who have reached Y6 are invited to attend Hereford Cathedral for these special services during the last weeks of term. Today's services were presided over by Archdeacon of Hereford, The Ven Fiona Gibson in the morning and Bishop Richard in the afternoon service. Fiona added: "It was wonderful to join with the pupils and their teachers to pray for them and commission them to go out, carrying with them all they’ve learnt."
The children and their teachers sang their hearts out to a number of iSingPop songs and shared specially written prayers for the occasion.
