Today we begin a new series called the two-minute interview where we share a photo and get the person to tell us a bit about themselves by answering a few questions.
Today we meet Sarah Whitelock. Sarah is the Communications Director at Hereford Diocese and is one of the voices behind our social media channels, website and weekly eNews bulletin. She has been working for Hereford Diocese since September 2019 and has a background in communications and marketing. Prior to joining the team, she spent nearly 10 years working in comms roles in various parts of the NHS in the West Midlands. She is married to a Doctor and has two Boys and a slightly mad spaniel. She lives in North Gloucestershire near Cheltenham.
Here's what she told us when we caught up with her earlier this week:
I: Hello. Thanks for being our first guineapig for the 2-min interview. We're starting with an easy question - What is your favourite food?
SW: A good piece of steak, cooked medium-rare and preferably served with sweet potatoes fries and a salad. Perhaps accompanied by a glass of wine.
I: That sounds very tasty. Question two, what skill would you like to master?
SW: I have always wanted to be able to run and enjoy it. I have tried it a few times but have never caught the 'running bug.' I admire those who do distance running and love watching the London Marathon.
I: Final question - what do you enjoy about working at Hereford Diocese?
SW: For me, the best part of my job is the people. They are all amazing – even if they don't see themselves that way. It's a privilege to work with such a passionate and committed team of individuals. (We're a lovely bunch in the central diocesan team). I also love the opportunities I have to work with and share stories from the people in our many churches. There are so many people doing some fantastic things that really bring God's love to life. It's great to see our churches emerge from the pandemic and begin new things or restart meeting in person
I: Thank you for being our first 2min interview
