The next team member we meet in our two-minute interview is Rosa Speyer.
Rosa is the Parish Giving Advisor responsible for the Hereford Archdeaconry. Also, she focuses on communicating generosity – looking out for those lovely good news stories of how generosity is happening in our churches, communities and parishes. She is in the 3rd year of Reader Training and hopes to be licensed to minister in her home diocese of Gloucester in September next year.
We asked her some questions.
I: Hello Rosa, Thanks for taking part in the 2-min interview. Here is our first question - What is your idea of a perfect day?
RS: Something that involved a lovely sunny bike ride or walks along the coast with my husband Edward followed by an afternoon tea and an evening with friends playing cards and board games. Although my husband suggested it, it is at Wembley to watch my beloved Burnley FC win the FA cup! [he’s right! But the first one is infinitely more achievable.]
I: If you could go anywhere in the world, where would you go and why?
RS: I love wild animals and have been able to see some up close in South Africa already I would love to either go to Rwanda and Uganda to meet the mountain Gorillas or Borneo to commune with an Orangutan or two.
I: This sounds interesting. So, our final question is the one we ask everyone. What do you enjoy about working at Hereford Diocese?
RS: The people are lovely, friendly, and happy to help. And not just in the Diocese office I also mean all the clergy, churchwardens and treasurers I visit in our Churches. Also, it is a real treat to be out and about in such wonderful countryside each week.
