The next team member we meet in our two-minute interview is Mark Melluish.
Mark moved to Herefordshire with his wife Lindsay and joined the team as Diocesan Mission Enabler. Mark and Lindsay have 5 children and 2 grandchildren.
Mark has been heavily involved in the leadership of New Wine England for over 30 years. He has co-authored two books and regularly mentors young leaders throughout the UK.
He enjoys cycling, beekeeping, gardening, and good wine.
I: Hello Revd Mark. Thanks for taking part of our 2-min interview series. First question we're keeping it simple - If you could go anywhere in the world, where would you go and why?
MM: I think I would go to Italy because I love Italian food. I love the energy of Italians, and they also have some great wines I would go to when it is hot.
I: What skill would you like to master?
MM: I would love to surf well in the sea. I admire people on their boards riding the waves, and although I have tried it a few times, I am not great at it and would love to be able to do it really well.
I: What is your favourite book in the bible?
MM: The gospel of Mark. I love the energy, passion, and enthusiasm of that gospel particularly. It’s very inspiring.
I: We know you are new here and have just arrived but so far, what do you enjoy about working at Hereford Diocese?
MM: I am working with some fantastic people in a beautiful place, and I look forward to seeing God’s Kingdom come even more in this area. I feel honoured and privileged to be here for the season I am here.
