The Tudor courtyard was created during the time of Bishop Charles Booth. The new kitchen and Tudor gateway were constructed in 1533. The Road is diverted from in front of the Palace (site of the current stable block) and built to go over the new bridge and away from the ford. He also added to the cathedral’s north porch during his time as Bishop of Hereford.
