The Bishop installed two new Prebendaries on Sunday
7th May 2024 is the 30th anniversary of the ordination of women in the diocese.
On Saturday 27 April, Bishop Richard addressed the Diocesan Synod, encouraging us to keep our eyes fixed on the bigger picture.

Lesley Grady a member of the diocesan central team and part of the team who leads on our Homes for Ukraine scheme received an unusual honour last week when she was made a Freeman of the Worshipful Company of Fletchers at a special ceremony held at The Farmers and Fletchers Hall in the City of London.
We are pleased to announce that the Revd Dr Evie Vernon O’Brien has been appointed as the Racial Justice Director for the Church of England in the West Midlands. Evie will take up her role in July working with six dioceses - Birmingham, Coventry, Gloucester, Hereford, Lichfield, and Worcester. It is the first collaborative project of its kind in the Church of England. She will lead a team of people who will support each diocese to promote racial justice more effectively and examine our culture, practices and policies to ensure fundamental principles of equality, diversity and inclusion run through everything we do, both in our worshipping communities and in our workplaces.
As figures on young people’s mental health issues continue to rise year on year, a new piece of research released by Hereford Diocese highlights the benefits of creating regular prayer habits amongst primary aged children.
This year’s maundy money recipients from Hereford Diocese are Mrs. Rachel Jenkins and Rev'd. Roy Crew. This year Her Majesty The Queen will hand out the Royal Maundy gifts for the first time, on behalf of His Majesty The King. The service will take place on Thursday, 27 March, at Worcester Cathedral.
For the third consecutive year, the church team at St. Margaret's Ratlinghope, which is part of the Onny Camlad Benefice a group of churches in south Shropshire, have erected three crosses on a hillside. This is part of church celebrations to remember the death and resurrection of Christ.
