Thy Kingdom Come 2024

"In praying 'Thy Kingdom Come' we all commit to playing our part in the renewal of the nations and the transformation of communities."

Archbishop Justin Welby

Thy Kingdom Come is a global prayer movement that invites Christians around the world to pray for more people to come to know Jesus.  This year it starts on Thursday 9 May and runs until Sunday 19 May 2024.

There is a huge free resources giveaway for local churches. Whatever age or tradition, we have resources that will spiritually nourish and encourage all.

As part of celebrations for 2024 in our diocese, everyone is invited to join a very special in-person or virtual 24*7 prayer room at The Palace.  Bishop Richard and Deborah are once again opening the Bishop's chapel, located at the Palace in Hereford to anyone from across our diocese (and beyond) to join in prayer throughout this 10-day period.

  • In-Person: Bishop’s Chapel, Bishop’s Palace, Hereford, HR4 9BN, open from 6:30 am to 9:00 pm. Enter via the central arch with double white doors and the entrance to the prayer room is in the back right of the Great Hall.
  • Virtually: Our prayer room will be accessible from anywhere, at any time of day, through a 360° interactive virtual tour. Embark on a digital pilgrimage to pray with us from the convenience of your home.

This year, the virtual live video will allow people to see into the prayer room, explore the prayer resources throughout the 10 day period and participate as a virtual prayer pilgrim.  The video below will go live once the prayer room opens on Thursday 9 May - please do follow.  Please do sign up to join TKC 24*7 prayer@ThePalace

What else is happening in our diocese for Thy Kingdom Come?

Churches, schools, small groups and individuals are encouraged to take part in the 10 days of prayer using resources available to create local events and services.  Don't forget to advertise them and update the details via AChurchNearYou as well as on social media and your own church website, pew sheets, noticeboards and parish magazines.

What resources are available to support churches?

There are a range of resources available every year which can be downloaded or purchased and used by churches, schools, small groups, families and individuals as you journey through the 10 days of prayer.  Do visit the Thy Kindom Come website for more details.  A few highlights include:

  • The Thy Kingdom Come Novena for 2024
  • The Prayer Journal will help you focus your prayers throughout Thy Kingdom Come with short Bible verses, reflections, responses, and prayers.
  • 2024 Social Media Graphics.
  • Cheeky Pandas and Thy Kingdom Come are partnering together once again, offering a variety of free resources that seek to get children excited about Jesus, the Bible and prayer.
