Following on from this evening's announcement in which Prime Minister Boris Johnson has announced a second national lockdown for England as the UK passed one million Covid-19 cases. The lockdown will come into effect on Thursday 5 November and will remain in place until Wednesday 2 December 2020.

The Diocese of Hereford has issued the following statement to all churches in our Diocese:

"Our thoughts and prayers are for our nation at this very difficult time. In particular, we pray for those who are alone, vulnerable or isolated, for all who are struggling with physical and mental health and all those who are worried about their families, livelihood and future."

"We await details of what this lockdown means for prayer, worship and life events in our churches. We will share information in our usual updates which will also be published on our website as details are worked out over the coming days. In the meantime please keep an eye on the national Church of England web pages for the latest information."

"We recognise that churches and church halls in Wales remain closed until the start of Monday 9th November and await further direction and announcements by the Welsh Government."
