Sunday, 19th April 2026, 6pm, Leominster Priory, with Bishop Richard
To celebrate the 1350th anniversary of Hereford Diocese, more than two dozen choirs – over 100 choristers – from across the diocese will come together at Leominster Priory this Sunday evening, to sing music by local composers past and present. Leominster Priory Music Director Hilary Norris, pictured, said, “The choirs will sing their way through the history of the diocese and there will be popular hymns for all to join in with, during the service.”
Choirs are coming from Acton Scott, Almley, Apedale, Archenfield, Ariconium, Burghill, Cardington, The Cider Churches, Cradley, Craven Arms, Eardisley, Fownhope, Hereford, The Hop Churches, Kington, Leominster, The Maund Churches, Much Wenlock, Presteigne, Ross-on-Wye, Wellington and the Pyons, Weobley, Whitbourne and others.
This Service of Celebration has been funded with support from the diocese's Mustard Seed Fund, and with the support of Leominster Priory PCC and Ministry Team. It is organised by Marches Music Ministry (MMM) and the Diocese of Hereford Organists' Training Scheme (DHOTS). Both organisations exist to provide training and support for church musicians of all levels. MMM is a collective of musicians and choirs across Herefordshire, Shropshire, and the Welsh Marches formed to support local church music. DHOTS helps train new organists, improve skills and showcase young talent.
