Bishop of Ludlow visits those affected by the floods

Published on: 21st February 2020

Visiting Tenbury Wells this afternoon it was heartwarming to see the community spirit and hard work of the fire service and many volunteers as the cleaning up operation continues. The extent of the damage and loss are heartbreaking. Shops have lost vast amounts of stock, livelihoods threatened and buildings need to be deep cleaned. The effects will remain long after the waters have subsided and the silt and mud removed. It struck me how important it is not to forget when it is no longer news.

What is clear is that Tenbury has a strong heart and there is a determination not to allow this latest disaster to defeat them. Our clergy Revd Sian Harris and Revd Mark Inglis are deeply involved and their care and support much valued.

I wish to assure all affected of my sadness at what has happened and assurance of continuing prayer.
