A new food bank opened earlier this month run by a group of churches working together in Pontesbury as demand for help continues to rise. The UK’s food poverty rate is already among the highest in Europe. Despite being the sixth richest country in the world, millions are struggling to access the food they need.

Emily Hill takes to the stand to make her Maiden Speech at General Synod

Emily Hill took to the stand at General Synod last weekend to give her maiden speech. Emily who is 21 years old and a trainee nurse, is one of the lay representatives for Hereford Diocese and the youngest ever member to be elected to the General Synod. She spoke passionately during the assisted dying debate before a packed house of representatives.


Y6 leavers welcomed back to Hereford Cathedral for special assembly service

Today saw another annual service tradition return. Following a two-year break due to covid,  The Y6 leavers assembly took place at Hereford Cathedral.  This special occasion is a highlight of the academic calendar for members of our Education team. Lord Scudamore Academy and St Thomas Cantilupe CE School, along with helpers from Hereford Cathedral School and Holy Trinity Choir, gathered to sing Choral Evensong as part of the West Hereford Team’s Choir Church pilot.
